Sunscreen is a part of my daily life! I needed to formulate something that I wanted to put on my face everyday…. enter the face sunscreen! The regular sunscreen that’s on the line can also be used on the face - problem is I just didn’t really want to. This is more of a light lotion (compared to the thicker balm that the regular sunscreen is). Light and gentle with a touch of tint to combat the zinc oxide that tends to be whitening, but not so much tint that you need to worry about a match to your skin tone. It has a matte effect on the skin blurring blemishes and imperfections.

The smell is not your regular sunscreen smell. Think palo santo and sandalwood. Woodsy - a reflection of where I live! But can be used anywhere anytime!

Ingredients: Aloe, Water, Zinc Oxide (non-nano), Jojoba Oil, Pomegrante Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Tamanu Oil, Neem Oil, Vegetable based Emulsifying Wax, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides (for color), Sodium Benzoate and Gluconolactone (natural preservative for lotions!). Essential OIls of: Lavender, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Palo Santo and Vetiver.

For you formula junkies out there - I made this originally at 25% zinc oxide but it was too thick for what i wanted. I needed a lotion that felt light and good on the face! So more aloe and water were added and the concentration hence came down to about 18% making it about a 27-34 spf range. This is NOT lab tested yet! It’s an educated guess based on percentages! I can also tell you that I’m a fair, freckly red head and when i wear this I don’t get burned!
