Balls of Bliss

January 14, 2015 in food, recipe

I'm just back from Costa Rica. Amazing trip where I was part of teaching a retreat. Yoga, Meditation, Food, Juice, Beach. Perfectly Lovely. My first night there I was handed a Bliss Ball by JP. It was so delicious and it had super natural powers - it woke me straight up (and not just from the raw cacao). My body burst forth with a new vitality - I felt my blood pumping through my veins and my head float. That was no easy task after my 18 hour journey on 2 hours of sleep.

I made a few varieties that week. It's amazing when new flavors have the ability to wake up your senses to a whole new light. I'll be posting a few different recipes - this one was my favorite - it's strong and powerful in the flavor department and just the right amount of sweet and healthy to keep you coming back for more.

SESAME BLISS BALLS

  • 1 cup Sesame Seeds, toasted
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 1 Tblsp Ginger, ground (powder)
  • 3 inches Fresh Ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tsp Cumin, seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cardamom, ground
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 tsp Star Anise, ground
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg, ground
  • 3 Tblsp Coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Coconut, shredded

In a food processor or Vitamix - process all ingredients except the shredded coconut. If too dry add a bit more water or oil. Roll into balls - Roll in the shredded coconut.

These are so simple to make... and you can play around with flavors to suit your taste. These are quite pungent and strong flavored - very Indian in taste - I love them!  And they're good for digestion!  ENJOY!
